Staffing firm <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/teamlease" target="_blank">TeamLease Services</a> has been seeing a flurry of activity on the stock exchange over the last few days.
Venture Capital firm <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/icici-venture" target="_blank">ICICI Venture</a> has shed nearly its entire holding in TeamLease Services by selling 5.3 per cent stake in the open market in the past few days for about $15 million.
ICICI Ventures, through its India Advantage Fund S3 I, sold 910,198 shares at Rs 1,125.06 a share amounting to Rs 102.5 crore ($15.3 million), as per stock exchange filings.
In 2011 ICICI Ventures had invested Rs 75 crore and had held a stake of close to 6% before the transaction.
On the other hand, <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/hdfc-mutual-fund" target="_blank">HDFC Mutual Fund</a> has increased shareholding in the Bengaluru-based firm by 2.2 per cent to nearly 9 per cent by purchasing shares through the market.
&#8220;&#8230; there has been an increase in the shareholding of the company by the schemes of HDFC Mutual Fund by 2.20 percent as of August 10, 2016,&#8221; HDFC Asset Management Company said in a separate filing.
The aggregate holding of the schemes of HDFC Mutual Fund in TeamLease is 8.99 per cent of the paid up share capital (of over Rs 17.09 crore comprising 1,70,96,769 shares of Rs 10 each), it added.
HDFC Mutual Fund is a trust constituted with Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd (HDFC) and Standard Life Investments Limited as the sponsors. HDFC Trustee Company is the trustee.
Also, <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/morgan-stanley" target="_blank">Morgan Stanley</a>, through Morgan Stanley Mauritius Company Ltd bought 247,000 shares at Rs 1,125.
The staffing services opened its initial share sale on February 2 to raise Rs 420 crore from the primary market. The issue closed on February 4. Existing investors Gaja Capital and ICICI Venture, who had put in $27.8 million in the past, sold some stake – 1.5 million shares – as part of the offering.
