India-based Aahaa.in, an online platform has raised Rs 6.7 crore (almost $1 million) from <a style="color: #000080" href="http://yournest.in/" target="_blank">YourNest Angel Fund</a>. In a separate deal, Zopper has acquired EasyPoS.
<h3>Aahaa receives $1m led by YourNest Angel Fund</h3>
<a style="color: #000080" href="http://aahaa.in/index.php" target="_blank">Aahaa.in</a>, an online office supplies superstore specialising in indirect purchases, has raised Rs 6.7 crore (almost $1 million) in pre-series A funding led by YourNest Angel Fund, the company said.
A group of other unnamed angel investors also participated in the round.
The startups plans to use the funding for expansion plans.
&#8220;The indirect purchases make up 6-15 per cent of a company&#8217;s expenses depending on the industry and the size of the organisation. By bringing this to a common platform, we help the companies consolidate their orders and provide end-to-end fulfillment,&#8221; said Asokan Sattanathan, co-founder of Aahaa.
YourNest Angel Fund, a $20 million VC fund, is managed by YourNest Capital Advisors Pvt Ltd. Its other portfolio companies include Momark, a mobile based marketing solution company; GolfLan Technology Solutions, a leading online marketplace; IT firm Uniphore and others.
<h3>Zopper acquires EasyPoS</h3>
<a style="color: #000080" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=zopper" target="_blank">Zopper</a>, a discovery and buying platform for electronic goods backed by <a style="color: #000080" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Tiger+Globalhttp://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Tiger+Global" target="_blank">Tiger Global</a>, has acquired <a style="color: #000080" href="http://easypos.in/" target="_blank">EasyPoS</a>, a sales company, in a cash and equity deal, for $5 million.
The deal will help Zopper raise its point-of-sale revenue. It will help it reach out to more small businesses, that power the likes of <a style="color: #000080" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=ShopClues">ShopClues</a> and logistics players like <a style="color: #000080" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Delhivery">Delhivery</a>.
Zopper works with local businesses and takes a commission for sales through its platform. Co-founder Neeraj Jain has said that it plans to expand to three more cities in the next quarter from its current reach of 22.
Implementing the EasyPoS platform will help allow Zopper to add 350 sellers.
Other players like Ezetap and MSwipe have also expanded their merchant base using mobile PoS technology.
