Private equity giant Blackstone sold nearly 10 per cent stake in Gokaldas at a loss, TVS Automobile Solutions invested $11 million in three startups and PayTunes raised half a million dollars.
<h3 class="selectionShareable">Blackstone sells stake in Gokaldas at loss</h3>
Private equity giant <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=blackstone" target="_blank">Blackstone</a> has sold nearly 10 per cent stake in garment exporter <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Gokaldas+Exports+Ltd" target="_blank">Gokaldas Exports Ltd</a> at less than half the price at which it had invested.
The stake sold represents about one-sixth of its total holding in the firm according to a stock market disclosure.
Blackstone sold share at Rs 126.2 to ICICI Bank for a total of $6.5 million. The bank had also bought shares in the previous stake sale by Blackstone in 2014.
<h3 class="selectionShareable">TVS invests $11 million in three startups</h3>
<a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=tvs" target="_blank">TVS Automobile Solutions</a> Ltd (TVS ASL) has invested a total of about $11 million in three startups.
They are Jazzmyride, a auto parts and accessories company, Redsun Telematics, a IoT startup, and customer management service provider Autosense.
TVS ASL is part of the TVS group and is present in the automobile aftermarket business.
<h3>PayTunes has raised close to $500K</h3>
Mobile advertising platform <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=PayTunes" target="_blank">PayTunes</a> has raised close to $500,000 in a pre-Series A round.
The investors were CIO Angel Network, Indian Angel Network (IAN) and Apurva Parekh from Pidilite.
The startup was founded last year by Divya Pratap Singh, Rakesh Sehgal, both IIT Delhi alumni, and Gaurav Tiwari. It provides advertisers a medium to better target mobile consumers.
