Botworx, a California-headquartered conversational commerce platform, has raised $3 million seed funding led by Costanoa Ventures, an early-stage VC firm.
<a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=SV+Angel" target="_blank">SV Angel</a> also participated in the round, the company said in a post on its website.
Botworx will use the proceeds to build out its platform that enables brands to easily and affordably acquire, engage, and transact with consumers via popular messaging apps like Facebook Messenger, WeChat and iMessage.
Founded in 2016 by Mahi de Siva, Manoj Malhotra, Mark Fruehan and Arvind Gupta, who most recently was CIO for the BJP political party in India.
In 2008, De Silva, Malhotra and Fruehan founded an advertising firm AdMarvel and in 2013, this firm was rebranded as Opera Mediaworks. Prior to starting AdMarvel, the team built the mobile messaging and content business at VeriSign.
“Chatbot technology is a leapfrog opportunity for brands to elevate ephemeral digital marketing campaigns into engaging and long-lived conversations with consumers. Despite all of the technological innovation, marketing is still done one campaign at a time, where brands have very limited access to audience profile and engagement data. We’re building Botworx.ai to upend that paradigm gives brands greater power to acquire customers, engage them with content and monetize the engagement,&#8221; said Mahi de Silva, CEO of Botworx.ai.
Botworx, an artificial intelligence platform, helps brands engage with their clients and drive conversions for their business. Currently, it is focused on building a bot creation and management platform that allows brands to use chatbots and messaging services not just for customer service and retention, but for acquiring customers.
“Botworx.ai is building an end-to-end platform that allows businesses to message directly with consumers instantly without having to open a separate app, this will change the way businesses engage with their customers, allowing every interaction to be personalized and one-to-one,&#8221; said Neill Occhiogrosso, partner at Costanoa Ventures.
In the space, its competitors which recently raised funding include <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Niki.ai" target="_blank">Niki.ai</a>, <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=MarianaIQ" target="_blank">MarianaIQ</a>, <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Mezi" target="_blank">Mezi</a> among others.
