<a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.easypay.com.mm">EasyPay</a>, a mobile payment solution provider has invested of about $3 million in Myanmar for further expansion of its services.
The portal is already accepting payments for electricity and internet bills, and plans to expand its payment service to air-time top-ups, money transfers, cash-in, cash-out services, B2B payment and microfinance payment collections- in 2016, U Soe Ko Ko, chief executive officer of EasyPay told DEALSTREETASIA.
Different kinds of payment collections will be the first priority said Ko Ko adding that later in the year, the company will expand to money remittance facilities.
EasyPay is looking to partner alocal bank for one fo the new services.
“Money payment services will see an expansion starting from 2016. Many banks and shopping centers are expanding , introducing credit cards. Later, more merchants will prefer to use a cashless payment. Those who don’t use banks will be shifting to the use of mobile payment,” opined Ko Ko.
EasyPay has a co-branding partner, <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://myanmarmobilemoney.com">Myanmar Mobile Money</a> that has a tie up with the Innwa bank for execution of mobile payment service.
Through the partnership, both players have managed to expand their network. The number of EasyPay’s current registered users thorough their web portal is about 800 but only half has been actively using their electricity and internet bill payment service.
Brands like <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.truemoneymyanmar.com">TrueMoney</a>, <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.myanpay.com.mm">MyanPay</a>, <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.wavemoney.com.mm/index.htm">WaveMoney</a> have also providing similar services in the country. “The market for mobile payment service is very broad. Each firm is in the stage of finding their own market. Later, they could become competitors. Users will be looking into the types of services each firm could provide and also the price,” he said.
