Private investment firm <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://eightroads.com/">Eight Roads Ventures</a> has appointed former <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://english.sbcvc.com/" target="_blank">Softbank China Venture Capital</a> partner Joe Chang to look after its china ventures team.
Starts with immediate effect, Chang will be focusing on enterprise technology, consumer IT, fintech, and services investments. He will be based in the Shanghai office.
Chang spent the first 10 years of his career consulting in China and the US, first with <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.icaew.com" target="_blank">Coopers &amp; Lybrand</a> then <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.mckinsey.com/" target="_blank">McKinsey &amp; Co</a>, while holding various senior sales and general management roles in <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.microsoft.com/zh-cn" target="_blank">Microsoft China</a>. He then moved to <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.cisco.com" target="_blank">Cisco Greater China</a> where he served as the head of corporate development.
Originally from the US, Chang graduated with an MBA from <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.kellogg.northwestern.edu/" target="_blank">Kellogg School of Management</a>, and an M.Eng. and B.Sc., Industrial Engineering &amp; Manufacturing Engineering from <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.northwestern.edu/" target="_blank">Northwestern University</a>.
Chang&#8217;s arrival is the latest in a series of global recruits to the growing Eight Roads Ventures team. Michael Treskow from Accel and Rohit Krishnan from McKinsey &amp; Co. recently joined the European Ventures team in London as partner and vice-president respectively.
