<a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.zalora.co.id">Zalora Indonesia</a>, an online fashion retailer, has appointed Anthony Fung as chief executive as the company seeks to double sales to 160 million clothes in the next two years.
&#8220;Zalora is the market leader for fashion e-commerce in Indonesia. I feel honored to be chosen as its leader,&#8221; Fung said in a statement. Fung, previously Zalora&#8217;s managing director, fills the position left vacant by Fredrik Thomassen.
The online fashion retailer, according to Fung, plans to bring more local and international fashion brands into its collection.
&#8220;Zalora will provide 80 million items of clothing to Internet users, which we hope will double in the next two years so we could sell 160 million clothing items,&#8221; he said.
Indonesia is Zalora&#8217;s biggest market in Asia, ahead of Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and Hong Kong.
At present, the company sells clothes, shoes, bags and other merchandise from 1,000 brands, 60 to 70 percent of which are local brands. It also has five private labels in its collection.
Fung joined Zalora in 2012. He started his career at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and studied at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and Princeton University.
