Lippo Group vehicle Gentle Care has extended the timeline of its takeover offer of Healthway Medical Corporation and co-work space operator WeWork is expanding into Singapore.
<h3 class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">Gentle Care extends takeover offer of Healthway</h3>
Gentle Care, a vehicle of Indonesia’s <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/lippo-group" target="_blank">Lippo Group</a>, is extending the closing date for its takeover offer of Healthway Medical Corporation to May 2, 2017 following its date expiry on Tuesday.  
Gentle Care is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Valiant Leader, and an indirect subsidiary of entities including Lippo China Resources (LCR), Lippo and Lippo Capital. The firm is offering 4.2 cents in cash each for all Healthway shares it does not currently own.
According to a stock exchange <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://infopub.sgx.com/FileOpen/Extension%20of%20Closing%20Date.ashx?App=Announcement&amp;FileID=444847" target="_blank">filing</a>, it added that it was making an offer to acquire <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/stories/healthway-medical-corporation-gateway-partners-convertible-note-68395/" target="_blank">Gateway Partners’ $70 million convertible notes</a>, at a 3.384 cents per share.
Last Friday, Heathway Medical received the initial net proceeds from the first tranche of its convertible notes issuance to private equity (PE) firm <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/gateway-partners" target="_blank">Gateway Partners</a>, 
This comprises a principal amount of S$10 million that enables Healthway to satisfy immediate liquidity needs, with the second tranche having a principal amount of S$60 million and being subject to shareholders&#8217; approval.
<h3 class="p4" style="text-align: justify;">WeWork to expand into Singapore</h3>
<a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/wework" target="_blank">WeWork’s</a> expansion of its Asian footprint will see it <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.techinasia.com/wework-singapore-tokyo-expansion" target="_blank">establish branches in Singapore and Tokyo</a>. Currently, it has a presence in Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Seoul, and Bangalore.
WeWork is currently looking to recruit community managers and has registered a company in Singapore, according to data on a statutory board in Singapore called the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA).
 Singapore&#8217;s co-work space sector is currently saturated, with the sector having grown in recent years as SMEs and startup ventures grapple with high property costs. In 2016, Singapore&#8217;s office space saw 3.6 million square feet of net lettable area coming onto the market, with greater competition.
 WeWork will be competing with local players such as The Working Capital, Impact Hub Singapore, Collective Works, The Great Room and others.
