Cheryl Yeoh is the founding chief executive officer of Malaysia’s startup and entrepreneurship agency, MaGIC, whom the Ministry of Finance of Malaysia appointed to lead in 2014. Returning after 12 years in New York city, the entrepreneur has made it her goal to make Malaysia a startup hub for the region, and pushed for international investor interest in the local startup scene. Under a mutual agreement, Yeoh will be ending her contract with the Ministry of Finance on January 14, 2016, a few months short of the stipulated two-year mark.
