MBK led consortium, backed by Temasek, nears $7b South Korea deal

A consortium of investors, led by MBK, South Korea’s biggest private equity fund, which also includes Singapore state fund Temasek Holdings, have emerged as the preferred bidder for the South Korea arm of British supermarket operator Tesco PLC, in a deal worth between $6 billion to $7 billion, multiple media reports said, quoting sources.
