A Myanmar based startup that offers online grocery delivery service, the first of its kind in the country, is seeking funds to scale up operations.
<a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=53WLpUFQb2k">Table Top Grocers</a>, which is recently started operating  in Yangon is looking to replicate its model across the country.
In a recent interaction with<a href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/"> DEALSTREETASIA</a>, the team behind Table Top Grocers said the service was trying to plug the gap between street shopping and super markets, which do not provide enough fresh products. The startup said it aims to differentiate itself with good quality, reasonably priced groceries as well as recipe packages to its customers.
At first, Table Top Grocers will only be operational in Yangon, but the team see potentials in other cities in Myanmar and aims to quickly expand and own a warehouse.
The founding team sees Table Top Grocers&#8217; revenues coming from two sources: delivery fees and price margins of groceries. Starting the business since 2014, the team is looking for investors to set up a company and expect to generate profit once it is established.

Table Top Grocers, formed by two students of the Yangon University of Economics who are now the admins of the project, also won the $1,000 second prize of the 4th Myanmar Business Model Contest 2014, and was selected to the recent Mekong Business Challenge 2015 held in Vietnam. Although the team did not win there, the business model appears promising according to market watchers as Myanmar is a hugely untapped market.
In a recent report <a href="http://www.euromonitor.com/markets-of-the-future-in-myanmar/report">Markets of the Future in Myanmar</a> by the EuroMonitor International, Myanmar is listed as one of the top 20 future potential world markets that will offer the most opportunities for consumer goods companies, globally. The country is one of the fastest growing and most promising economies in Asia Pacific; however, market intelligence is extremely limited.
Myanmar is also the last economic frontier in Asia with significant growth potential. Its annual gross domestic product (GDP) growth was 6 per cent during the 2009-2013 period. The rate is expected to reach 7.8 per cent in both fiscal year 2014 (ending March 31, 2015) and in fiscal year 2015 according to projections by the Asian Development Bank. It also forecast that the number of middle class consumers in Myanmar will double by 2020.
