Real-estate firm PTFC Redevelopment Corp has acquired a minority stake in two leasing companies, while Facebook launched its first Philippine office.
<h3>PTFC buys stake in two leasing firms</h3>
Listed real estate company <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.ptfc-brc.com" target="_blank">PTFC Redevelopment Corp</a>, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Baesa Redevelopment Corp (BRC), has acquired a minority stake in two leasing firms.
PTFC disclosed on Thursday that BRC was allowed by its board of directors and stockholders to use its excess cash to buy an 18.03 per cent stake in Saratoga Holdings Inc (SHI) for $331,000 (P15.4 million), and a 19.35 per cent ownership in Nightingale Holdings Inc (NHI) for over $323,000 (P15.60 million).
BRC purchased a total of 110,000 SHI shares priced at P140 per share, and bought 12,000 NHI shares at P1,300 apiece.
PTFC informed the stock exchange that BRC’s investment in SHI and NHI is expected to improve the financial standing of both BRC and the company.
PTFC&#8217;s last trading price remained at P28.25 since Wednesday.

<h3>Facebook sets shop in Philippines</h3>
Social media titan Facebook on Thursday formally launched its Philippine office based in Manila as it looks forward to partner with more local businesses.
Facebook Asia Pacific vice president Dan Neary said, the company has named Digs Dimagiba as the country head of Facebook Philippines.
Dimagiba is a former mobile business director of Samsung Electronics Philippines.
&#8220;Our team has already been partnering closely with businesses &#8211; small and large &#8211; in the Philippines; and I&#8217;m looking forward to the opportunity to grow together with our partners there,&#8221; Neary said.
He revealed that over 49 million Filipinos access Facebook every month which is over 91 per cent of the Philippines&#8217; internet population.
&#8220;The Philippines is a highly engaged mobile-first nation filled with people who are creative, entrepreneurial and have a strong sense of community,&#8221; Neary said.&#8221; Filipinos have been sharing the unique moments that matter on Facebook with their friends and family, be it life milestones or a trending video.&#8221;
Neary added two in three Filipinos are connected to a business Page on Facebook, and they’re using the platform to discover new brands and products.
