<a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.rcbc.com/" target="_blank">Rizal Commercial Banking Corp (RCBC)</a> has hired former BDO Unibank executive Benett Clarence Santiago as head of its credit management group, as well as Richard Chua Lim as new chief operating officer (COO).
Santiago&#8217;s post has the rank of first senior vice president, while Lim as executive vice president but to be seconded to RCBC Savings Bank. Both appointments took effect on Friday, December 16.
The listed bank disclosed Santiago has over 21 years of professional experience in risk management with significant years focused on commercial risk management and evaluation as well as enterprise risk management.

Among his experiences include serving as head of the Commercial Banking Credit Evaluation Unit of the BDO Unibank, risk head of the Citi Commercial Bank, chief compliance officer of Union Bank of the Philippines, and head of the Risk Management Center of the International Exchange Bank.
Santiago graduated from the University of the Philippines in Quezon City in 1991 with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He finished his Master in Business Administration in 2001 from Ateneo de Manila Business School.
Meanwhile, Lim has over 25 years of professional experience in retail banking, marketing management, cash management services and consumer sales in the banking industry.
His employment background includes being head of the Retail Banking Group, Retail Marketing Management, Cash Management Services, and head of Consumer Sales Department of Maybank Phils Inc, and Branch Manager of Philam Bank-AIG.

Lim graduated from the University of Santo Tomas in 1991 with a degree of Bachelor of Science major in Biology.
RCBC recently underwent a Senate investigation regarding a cyber heist involving $81 million stolen from the Bangladesh Bank’s account at the US Federal Reserve Bank of New York and was deposited at one of the bank&#8217;s branches in Jupiter Street in Makati City. It was immediately withrdrawn, converted into pesos, and laundered at different casinos.
Bangladesh already recovered $15 million of the stolen $81 million from gaming junket operator Kim Wong, and Bangladesh officials are now demanding RCBC to pay back the $66 million.
About $17 million was suspected to have been taken by owners of remittance company PhilRem Service Corp, while $2.7 million remained frozen in Solaire Resorts and Casino via court order.
