Indonesia: Uber, Express Group join hands for ride-sharing and vehicle financing

The world’s largest transport-hailing app Uber Technologies and Indonesia’s taxi operator PT Express Transindo Utama Tbk recently announced a collaboration on ride-sharing and financing scheme for vehicles. The agreement follows massive protests from drivers of conventional taxi operators earlier this year, who saw ride-sharing apps as a threat to their income and called for the banning of such apps.
