Beijing-based AI and robotics company Geek+ has closed a $150-million Series B round led by global investor <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/tag/warburg-pincus/">Warburg Pincus.</a> The startup said this was the largest financing to date in the field of AI-enabled logistics robotics.
According to a Geek+ statement, Warburg Pincus has to date committed a total of approximately $100 million to the startup through a series of investments since 2017. Other Geek+ investors include Volcanics Venture and <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.dealstreetasia.com/tag/vertex-ventures/">Vertex Ventures</a>.
Founded in 2015, Geek+ provides intelligent robotics solutions and one-stop supply chain services by integrating robotics, AI, big data, cloud computing and IoT technologies. Its solutions can be used in the logistics, manufacturing and retail industries.
The company said its AI-enabled logistics solutions, including cargo-to-man picking system, intelligent moving and sorting systems and automated forklift, cover the entire process of warehousing, logistics and manufacturing. To date, it has delivered more than 5,000 robots and implemented over 100 robotics warehouse projects in markets including mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Australia, Singapore, Europe and the US.
“We will continue to focus on empowering various industries through AI &amp; Robotics technologies. This year, we expect to grow our business by more than five times,” said Geek+ founder and CEO Yong Zheng.

Warburg Pincus first invested in Geek+ in 2017. Prior to that, Geek+ had raised an RMB150 million ($21.6 million) round led by Vertex Ventures.
Since 1994, Warburg Pincus has invested more than $11 billion in over 100 companies in China, with a key focus on machine learning and AI in its technology practice. The firm has invested in mobile endpoint security service provider Zimperium, speech recognition and transcription provider Nuance, compensation data vendor Payscale, student analytics provider Civitas and computer vision company Trax.
