Taiwan-headquartered online travel discovery platform KKday, which expanded into Singapore earlier this year, has closed a $7 million in Series A+ funding led by Monk’s Hill Ventures and AppWorks.

Co-working space Impact Hub Singapore has launched an S$1 million seed fund to invest in early-stage startups. The fist community/co-work space too launch such a fund in Singapore, investors in the Hub Ventures Fund includes family offices, high-net-worth individuals (HNIs), as well as members of The Hub’s community.
SVCA recognised the quality of various deals by firms in the private equity and venture capital space, with Wavemaker and Monks’ Hill winning awards.
C88 properties, CekAja.com in Indonesia and eCompareMo.com in the Philippines, are the largest financial sites in their respective markets, connecting banks and insurers with consumers.
He, however, observed that it was critical for entrepreneurs to have a global outlook in building ventures that could scale outside Singapore. “If Singapore is to become a leader in innovation, it is going to need its startups and entrepreneurs to take their products to the world,” he added.
The fund was put together with investments from various limited partners including Cisco, Temasek, Telstra, and YJ Capital, among others. The VC firm raised an amount above its initial target of $80 million.
