Founded in 2015 by Le Hung Viet, JAMJA is a platform for discount discovery on restaurants, fashion and beauty products. It has reached nearly 5 million deal views with more than 1 million active users per month.
According to the founder, the bridge round will enable JAMJA to maintain its growth momentum and prepare for the upcoming official Series A round of funding.
“Sharing economy is becoming an inevitable trend of the global business environment. JAMJA convinced us thanks to the creative model and pursued the same philosophy, helping businesses in the field of restaurant, beauty to optimize the operating hours, especially the off-peak hours, brings value to customers,” said CyberAgent Capital investment director (Vietnam and Thailand) Nguyen Manh Dzung.
In 2017, JAMJA received investment from homegrown fund ESP Capital. After that, the startup raised a pre-Series A round of VND20 billion ($860,000) from four investment funds.
Investors participating in this round include KB Investment, a subsidiary of KB Financial Group, Nextrans, Bon Angels (venture capital funds from South Korea), and Framgia (a Japan information technology corporation).
JAMJA is continuing to expand its services in new areas, such as beauty (at spa salons, nail or hair salons), entertainment, and free shipping food and drink with the deepest discount through a cooperation with Hong Kong-based on-demand delivery company Lalamove.
It is expected that JAMJA will open business in other big cities throughout the country after Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
Japan’s CyberAgent Capital has recently co-participated in a $1-million pre-Series A funding round in fitness platform WeFit.vn, which helps connect workout enthusiasts with fitness studios across Vietnam.
Earlier, the venture capital fund participated in a $3-million bridge round in Vietnam’s rental sharing startup Luxstay.
