Video streaming platform Dekkho has raised $1.2 million while e-commerce site The Postbox has raised an undisclosed amount funding.
<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Dekkho raises $1.2m funding from seven angel investors</h3>
Dekkho, a video streaming platform, has raised $1.2 million of funding from seven angel investors, the company said in a press note on Monday.
The names of the investors were not disclosed.
Run by Baadl Technologies Pvt Ltd, Dekkho was founded by Tanay Desai and Vinay Pillai, the former  consultants of Booz Allen Hamilton, in March 2016. The startup offers curated content sourced from leading content providers from India and abroad. It currently has over 12,000 hours of programming which is made available by partnering directly with top digital channels such as Sony Music, Being Indian, Zee Music, Blush, Miss Malini, Times Group, ScoopWhoop, AIB, East India Comedy and Culture Machine.
“We aim to create a sustainable, three-way ecosystem for content producers, advertisers, and users through a free-to-use service. We feel premium consumption will be primarily driven by three key factors – content diversity, user experience, and availability before anywhere else,” co-founder Desai.
<h3 style="text-align: justify;">The Chennai Angels &amp; others back The Postbox</h3>
<a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=the+chennai+angels" target="_blank">The Chennai Angels</a> and other investors including Ritesh Mehta, head policies, Facebook and Aruna Ganesh Ram have invested an undisclosed amount in Chennai-based The Postbox.
&#8220;We intend to expand our travel category, strengthen our inventory and work on an omnichannel presence,&#8221; said Madhuvanthi Senthil Kumar, founder, The Postbox.
The startup was founded by Kumar and Nikhil Joseph in 2014. E-commerce firm The Postbox offers a range of products from Ikat and leather laptop bag, travel essentials, terracotta products and home decor products.
