Sieu Viet Human Resource Join Stock Company (Sieu Viet Group) has acquired ISS Vietnam Information System Solution JSC, the parent company of local recruitment platform MyWork, DEALSTREETASIA has learnt.
“The acquisition aims to increase the number of customers using MyWork and strengthen the small business customer segment,&#8221; said Phan Minh Tam, chairman of Simple Technology Investment JSC, which owns Sieu Viet Group.
MyWork, which was established in 2011 by ISS, has four offerings &#8212; mywork.com.vn/premium for enterprises, myuni.com.vn for students, myedu.com.vn for online courses, and mytalent.com.vn.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Tam founded Vieclam24h.vn in 2004, which then acquired a number of recruitment portals including Timviecnhanh.com and Viectotnhat.com to form Sieu Viet Group. The company claims that it has served over 6.2 million job seekers and 500,000 companies ranging from small and medium businesses to large enterprises in Vietnam.
Following its acquisition, MyWork will continue to operate as an independent company, Tam told us.
While Timviecnhanh.com and Vieclam24h.vn target medium and large businesses looking for talent with more than three years of experience, MyWork targets small businesses seeking new entrants in the job market. Viectotnhat.com, on the other hand, targets the micro-enterprise segment seeking candidates with less than two years of experience.
Founded in September 2009, ISS provides digital content, software development, online games, e-magazines and online advertising services.
With up to 78 per cent of employees estimated to be seeking new jobs with better positions and salaries, the local market is witnessing a spurt in the number of online recruitment platforms.
VietnamWorks under Navigos Group is the country&#8217;s largest recruitment platform in term of users with more than 3 million hits per month. It estimates that job offers in 2018 went up 11 per cent over the previous year, while applications increased by five per cent.
Prominent deals in the space include Vietnamese recruitment platform JobHop raising $710,000 last year in a round co-led by Singapore-based KK Fund and Japanese HR services company Mynavi Corporation. Earlier this year, Mynavi acquired ITViec, a recruitment platform specialising in the IT sector in Vietnam.

Following its acquisition, MyWork will continue to operate as an independent company.
