Edtech startup <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://testbook.com/">Testbook</a> has raised funding of an undisclosed amount from education content provider, <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.schandpublishing.com/">S Chand and Company Pvt Ltd</a>.
&#8220;The association with S Chand will help expand our reach and enter into new markets”, said Ashutosh Kumar, Co-Founder and CEO, Testbook.
The Mumbai-based startup aims to build a personalised one-stop solution for all competitive exams including Bank PO, IBPS LIC, UPSC, and SSC GATE among others.
The platform allows students to conduct live tests, which are designed to simulate an environment similar to the actual examination.
The company claims to have around 400,000 users and over 100,000 downloads on its mobile app and has conducted over 750,0000 tests on its platform. 
Testbook recently also launched a free current affairs app for students preparing for government services entrance exams.
“With several of the competitive examinations in India switching from a paper based to a computer based testing format, we believe the test preparation market is poised for disruption,” said Gaurav Jhunjhnuwala, Director, S Chand And Company Private Limited.
Other edtech firms in the country include <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.toppr.com/">Toppr</a>, <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.sigrideducation.com/">Sigrid</a>, <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.simplilearn.com/">Simplilearn</a> and <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.flipclass.com/">Flipclass</a> among others. Toppr recently acquired Manch, after it bought <a href="http://www.easyprep.in/">EasyPrep</a> last year.
S Chand has made five investments since 2014 in the edtech space and has a presence in smart class solutions, tablet-based content delivery, STEM based activity kits, home tutoring and online test preparation.
In November last year, S Chand had raised $27 million from<a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.ifc.org/" target="_blank"> IFC</a>, the private-sector lending arm of the<a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.worldbank.org/" target="_blank"> World Bank</a>, and private equity firm <a href="http://www.everstonecapital.com/" target="_blank">Everstone Capital</a> to scale up operations and expand into new sub-segments of education. The company is targeting to reach $100 million in revenues with operating profit of about $25 million in the current financial year ending March.
