Startups Byndr, Square Plums and Modasta have raised funds, while Rajratan Global Wire has acquired Cee Cee Engineering.
<h3>Byndr raises $700k from  Education Design Studio, others</h3>
Mobile learning management platform <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://byndr.in/">Byndr</a> has raised $700,000 from <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.e-designstudio.com/">Education Design Studio</a> (accelerator at the University of Pennsylvania), Ben Franklin Technology Partners and a group of angel investors.
The Hyderabad-based startup plans to use the seed funding to expand its sales and development team, as well as grow the product scope in terms of giving more access to educational content for students and providing more administrative features for colleges.
&#8220;This round of funding will allow us to accelerate expansion and continue providing easy-to-use, and mobile-first products for all stakeholders in higher education,&#8221; Byndr co-founder and CEO Joseph Freed said.
Founded in March 2015, Byndr claims it is used by over 50 top colleges in India with a total installed base of over 50,000 students on its platform.
<h3>Square Plums raised $446k from Indian Angel Network</h3>
<a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.squareplums.com/">Square Plums</a>, a chain of branded rental homes, has raised Rs 3 crore ($446,000) from <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/indian-angel-network">Indian Angel Network</a>, led by VGN Prakash, Amitabh Shrivastava, Krishna Jha and Ravindra Krishnappa.
Subsequent to the funding VGN Prakash will join the company board.
The raised funds will be used for onboarding the properties as per Square Plums design standards and building a robust technology platform for tenants, apartment owners and prospective tenants, the company said in a statement. It also plans to launch its mobile app to further offer a smooth experience to its customers.
<h3>Rajratan Global Wire acquires Cee Cee Engineering Industries</h3>
<a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.rajratan.co.in">Rajratan Global Wire</a> has received from its board of directors to acquire 100% shares of Cee Cee Engineering Industries, as per a stock market disclosure.
Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
Rajratan Global Wire is one of the leading manufacturers of high carbon steel wire in India &#8211; specializing in automotive tyre bead wire, high quality spring and rope wires.
<h3 align="justify">Modasta receives $1.5m funding from Mauritius-based HNIs</h3>
Multi-lingual health content portal <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.modasta.com/">Modasta</a> has raised $1.5 million (about Rs 10 crore) from Mauritius-based high net worth individuals, according to <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/small-biz/modasta-gets-up-to-rs-10-crore-from-mauritius-hnis/articleshow/53412217.cms">a report</a> in The Economic Times.
The Bengaluru-based startup plans to use the funds for business growth, technology upgradation, talent acquisition and marketing outreach activities.
Modasta provides you authenticated health care articles, information and doctor videos across five regional languages through articles and videos.
It also has health forums to exchange knowledge and experiences and is also looking to expand its range of offerings to include tele-health comprising online doctor consultation services.
