These moves will enable the firm to effectively execute its global growth strategy, and enable its portfolio companies to accelerate to market.
B Capital Group executive team changes include getting on board Kabir Narang as an Investment Partner; Virginia Schmitt as CFO &amp; Chief Administrative Officer; Chip Welsh as VP of Capital Formation; Dave Gallon as VP of Business Development; Hailey Hu as a Senior Associate. As part of the senior leadership changes, the firm also elevated Adam Seabrook from Senior Associate to Principal.

Since its first investment of Asian logistics provider Ninja Van in April 2016, B Capital Group has added four high-growth startups to its portfolio including evidence based medicine provider Evidation Health, Asian benefits and wellness platform CXA Group, online mental health platform SilverCloud Health, and SaaS-based transportation and logistics provider Lanetix.
The firm now employs nearly 20 experienced investment professionals in San Franciso, Los Angeles, and Singapore. It is led by four partners including Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin, Raj Ganguly, Gavin Teo and Kabir Narang.
Kabir Narang has joined B Capital Group’s Singapore office as an Investment Partner, leading the firm’s Asian investment efforts. Narang has previously served as Partner at Eight Roads Ventures, which is Fidelity’s venture capital group, where he led investments in technology and financial services companies.
He was also a member of the Regional Partners Committee, which evaluated opportunities across Asia, including in China and Japan. Prior to Eight Roads, Narang was employed at <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/warburg-pincus" target="_blank">Warbug Pincus</a>. Kabir began his career in consulting at McKinsey in India and BCG in the United States.
Virginia Schmitt, Chief Financial Officer &amp; Chief Administrative Officer, has a strong track record of performing potential transaction due diligence, execution and portfolio management.
Schmitt will lead fund operations, finance and administration, based in Los Angeles. She previously served as Vice President at Open Gate Capital, an international private equity firm that acquires controlling interests in businesses with solid fundamentals. Prior to that, Virginia served in the Transaction Advisory Group at Ernst &amp; Young.
Chip Welsh, VP of Capital Formation, joins to lead B Capital investor relations and fundraising efforts, based in Los Angeles. He previously served as the Vice President of Distribution at First Avenue Partners, Vice President of Client Relations &amp; Consultant Relations at Epoch Investment Partners, and Associate of Global Platform Distribution at SkyBridge Capital.
Dave Gallon, VP of Business Development, will be responsible for driving relationships between B Capital portfolio companies and corporate partners, including through the BCG network.
Gallon joins the firm from Toyota Motor Corporation, where he spent 15 years in senior roles in brand management, strategic planning and innovation. Most recently, Gallon was a Senior Director of Strategic Insight and Innovation, and was managing Toyota’s mobility innovation team, focused on technologies to help customers achieve safer, more ecological, and more comfortable mobility.
Hailey Hu will join B Capital’s Singapore office as Senior Associate, focused on sourcing and executing new investments and supporting portfolio management, with a particular focus on the Asian Healthcare market.
