Some of the recent deal developments in Australia has seen 1Scope and Clinivid raise equity funding while Uniti Wireless has closed a pre-IPO round.
<h3 class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">1Scope raises A$1m from Aqualand Capital</h3>
Sydney-based educational technology startup <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://1scope.com/" target="_blank">1Scope</a>, a platform for companies, universities and non-profits to share scholarships, work experience and training opportunities with students aged 12-25 years, has secured A$1 million ($763,450) in funding from <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.aqualand.com.au/" target="_blank">Aqualand Capital</a>, while still in its beta testing phase.
Its official launch is slated for mid-2017, and it will connect studens with opportunities for career development and growth because this information is largely “scattered” online. It aims to function as a centralised platform to raise awareness of opportunities with major corporates such as Google and the University of Technology Sydney. To date, it has secured partnerships with Microsoft, Wesley Mission and the University of New South Wales.
Since launching in beta phase in August 2016, 1Scope reportedly attracted more than 2000 students. The company plans to function as an Australia-wide platform in two years. 
Aqualand Capital will support 1Scope with legal, marketing and financial advice, as well as space at its Sydney office for 12 months. Jin Lin, managig director of Aqualand Capital, said, “When we saw the potential for 1Scope to make a difference to the adults of tomorrow, together with the enthusiasm and skills of its founder, Christina Chun, we knew this was an initiative that required our support.”
<h3 class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">Healhcare startup Clinivid closes A$350k seed round</h3>
<a style="color: #000080;" href="https://clinivid.com.au/" target="_blank">Clinivid</a>, a video and communications platform catering to health professionals, has closed an A$350,000 ($267,085) seed round in a round led by <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.rightclickcapital.com/" target="_blank">Right Click Capital</a>. 
Founded by Dr Katja Beitat, its solution aims to accelerate decision-making and enhance patient care by resolving the communications breakdown that can occur between professioanls and other operators in the healthcare space. 
Beitat has spent nearly a decade working for the New South Wales Health Care Complaints Commission, granting her an awareness of the deficits in the healthcare system. Clinivid enables clinicians to transmit video information about patients through an app and is designed for users to be aware of when messages have been read, communicate on patient cases, and assign tasks on urgent matters without compromising patient data confidentiality.
This clinical information platform is seeing nearly 300 clinicians using this platform and is forecast to rise as pilot programmes are rolled out. It is expected to streamline inefficiencies and gaps in cross-organisation communication. 
<h3 class="p1" style="text-align: justify;">Uniti Wireless closes A$3m pre-IPO round</h3>
Australian telecommunications startup <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://unitiwireless.com/" target="_blank">Uniti Wireless</a> has raised A$3 million ($2.28 million) in an oversubscribed pre-IPO funding round. 
This follows its co-founders and co-CEOs Sasha Baranikov and Che Metcalfe closing a <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.smartcompany.com.au/startupsmart/advice/startupsmart-funding/adelaide-startup-uniti-scores-multimillion-dollar-investment-to-give-it-a-massive-shot-in-the-arm-in-fight-against-the-nbn/" target="_blank">substantial investment in August 2016</a> that reportedly doubled their subscriber numbers and boosted revenue by 80 per cent.  
The company provides fixed wireless broadband solutions and positions itelf as an ADSL replacement and alternative to Australia&#8217;s National Broadband Network (NBN) alternative. Headquartered in the South Australian city of Adelaide, it has a workforce of nearly 40 staff in the city and plans to grow its footprint in Melbourne.
According to the company founders, they plan to initiatite the IPO towards the end of the year or Q1 2018. It plans to expand across Australia by 2021.
