In multiple investment updates from Australia, three startups &#8211; Rent360, Redback Technologies and The Yield &#8211; have closed funding rounds.
<h3 class="p1">Rent360 raises A$350k</h3>
Sydney-based real estate startup <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://rent360.com.au/" target="_blank">Rent360</a> has closed A$350,000 ($261,866) in angel funding following a February 2017 launch.
Rent360’s investors are former Rockend chief executive John Goddard, managing director for Amazon Web Services Australia and New Zealand Paul Migliorini, real estate veteran and Console executive Ian Campbell, Aviate Group founder Neil Smoli and Zeetings co-founder Neill Miller.
Its two-sided marketplace aims to connect independent property managers directly with investors for the delivery of tenant and property management services in a more transparent and cost-effective system. According to its founder and CEO, Jared Keen, this is to address inefficiencies in the current property management model. 
<h3 class="p1">Redback Tech secures backing from Energy Queensland</h3>
<a href="https://redbacktech.com/" target="_blank">Redback Technologies</a>, a Queensland cleantech startup, has secured A$1.96 million ($1.46 million) in resources from <a href="https://www.energyq.com.au/" target="_blank">Energy Queensland</a>. It previously secured a A$9.3 million ($6.96 million) strategic investment from <a href="https://www.energyaustralia.com.au/" target="_blank">Energy Australia</a> in October 2016. The company specialises in residential and commercial solar energy solutions.
Energy Queensland is a government-owned electricity distributor. The investment comes as Redback prepares to conduct a major pilot project in Dubai.  
Redback Technologies co-founded and led by Philip Livingston, will receive an injection of staff and engineers from Energy Queensland, in addition to an A$540,000 research fellowship from the University of Queensland aimed at refining the development of smart grid capabilities.
<h3 class="p1">The Yield closes Series A led by Bosch</h3>
<a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.theyield.com/" target="_blank">The Yield</a>, an Australian agriculture technology (agtech) startup developing Internet of Things (IoT) solutions to drive safe and sustainable food production, has secured an A$6.5 million ($4.86 million) Series A funding round, led by <a href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/bosch" target="_blank">Bosch</a>, <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/kpmg" target="_blank">KPMG</a> and <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://agfunder.com/" target="_blank">AgFunder</a>.
This brings aggregate equity funding raised by The Yield to A$11.5 million since being founded in 2014. In 2015, it secured an A$1 million government grant to aid in commercialisation and market entry.  
Founded by Ros Harvey, it has offices in Sydney and Hobart with 15 staff. The latest investment will see its The Yield’s new microclimate sensing system brought to market, in addition to sales and marketing efforts to drive expansion into the US and Europe, as well as continued product development.
