Palo-Alto based CodersClan, led by co-founders, CEO <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://il.linkedin.com/in/dror-b-cohen-46981528" target="_blank">Dror Cohen</a> and CTO <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://il.linkedin.com/in/uri-ezra-80334967" target="_blank">Uri Ezra</a>, announced on Monday that it has acquired online code store Binpress.
CodersClan also plans to &#8220;absorb all of Binpress&#8217;s assets&#8221;. 
The acquisition will also see Binpress’s founders, CTO <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/erangalperin" target="_blank">Eran Galperin</a> and CEO <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://il.linkedin.com/in/adambenayoun" target="_blank">Adam Benayoun</a>, “moving on to pursue other interests,” <a href="http://www.geektime.com/2016/06/20/exclusive-freelance-marketplace-codersclan-acquires-online-code-library-binpress/">it was revealed.</a>
Unlike other popular on-demand freelance services for content writing and translation (like <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Fiverr">Fiverr</a>), CodersClan gives moderators more control over who gets assigned a job. Coders are assigned to clients through factors such as deadline, expertise and the popularity of the technology being used.
“Despite many advances, building software is still a complex and risky process, inaccessible to many. We believe that by providing on-demand coding in the right context and interface, along with our community of coders, we can make it a lot simpler,” said CodersClan CEO Dror Cohen in an interaction with Geektime.
We will encourage CodersClan coders to write their own libraries and publish them on Binpress, as well as encourage Binpress coders to participate on CodersClan,” said Cohen in an exclusive to Geektime.
CodersClan runs a rigorous online credential check for interested parties that includes an individual&#8217;s contributions on Stack Overflow Github, LinkedIn account and personal websites.
“By providing contextual channels for different types of coding projects, we are able to structure and perfect a process for each type of work. Over the next year we would be introducing new integrations for more audiences, effectively opening more end-points to be working with our community,&#8221; Cohen said of the company&#8217;s future plans.
Last year, CodersClan raised $820,000 in seed round funding, while Binpress amassed $1 million in seed round funding in 2013. Binpress has also previously secured investments from <a href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Cloudera">Cloudera</a> founder <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.crunchbase.com/person/jeff-hammerbacher#/entity" target="_blank">Jeff Hammerbacher</a>, <a href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Dave+McClure">Dave McClure</a>, the <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.teec-angel.com/" target="_blank">TEEC Angel Fund</a>, <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://scrum.vc/" target="_blank">Scrum Ventures</a> and <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://fundersclub.com/" target="_blank">FundersClub</a>.
CodersClan has launched integration with Trello and new marketing services in the last year with clients including SimilarWeb, Myheritage, Checkmarx, Intercom and AppsFlyer. The value of the deal has yet to be disclosed.
In his interaction with Geektime, Cohen shared: “Our role as a platform is to provide both our clients and coders with the most optimal way to build code together.
