While social discovery platform Living Local has raised $200,000 through angel investment, onnline B2B marketplace for fruit and vegetable trade Vegfru has received investment from Wingify.
<h3>Living Local raises $200k seed funding</h3>
Social discovery platform <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.livinglocal.com/Account/Register">Living Local</a> raised  $200,000 as seed funding from Rattan Chadha, former CEO of Mexx clothing company, according to <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/small-biz/startups/living-local-raises-200000-from-mexx-clothing-company/articleshow/51770764.cms">a report</a> in The Economic Times.  At present, Living Local is focusing on expanding its presence and designing and launching their app by the end April.
The startup focuses on connecting people to restaurants, street food options, nightlife events and other neighbourhood activities, subsequently they plans to get  SME&#8217;s on board who cater to such services.
&#8220;The proof of concept was figured out when we launched the hyper-local magazine Living Local, later we launched the web portal and saw 600 people within suburban Mumbai who were active on it, now we are focusing on designing and launching the app,&#8221; said Neeraj Vasudev, co-founder of Living Local.
<h3>Wingify invests undisclosed amount in Vegfru</h3>
Enterprise software firm <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://wingify.com/">Wingify</a> has invested an undisclosed amount in <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://vegfru.com/">Vegfru</a>, an online B2B marketplace for fruit and vegetable trade, as per <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/small-biz/startups/enterprise-software-makers-wingify-invests-in-vegfru/articleshow/51770694.cms">a report</a> in The Economic Times.
The startup connects buyers, specifically retailers and restaurant owners to sellers or suppliers, for instance the farmers.
&#8220;There is a lot of potential for growth in this space, the size of this category could run into a few million dollars,&#8221; said Wingify founder  Paras Chopra. He claimed that Vegfru sees over 60 orders a week and functions on a subscription-based model, charging a service fee ranging 4-5 per cent per transaction.
At present, the startup has over 5,000 suppliers and buyers on the portal and focuses on taking care of the logistics and packaging services.
According to the report, Vegfru is aiming to create a pan India presence and is considering forging partnerships with startups like Grofers and other firms.
