<h3>Jagatjit Industries receives KKR funding</h3>
DEALSTREETASIA had reported earlier that KKR was investing Rs 300 crore in <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://jagatjit.com/corporate-profile.html" target="_blank">Jagatjit Industries</a>, an alcoholic beverages maker. That investment has now happened.
Roshini Sanah Jaiswal, promoter of the company, has said that the funds will be used to bring in modern processes at two of its units in Chandigarh and Hyderabad, and re-position the brand as a lifestyle choice for young people.
Jaiswal took charge a year ago, and has been trying to restore the 72-year old distiller&#8217;s dwindling marketshare in the face of tough competition from domestic brands and international players such as Diageo and Pernod Ricard.
<h3>Kanakia Group buys Mumbai land from Windsor Realty</h3>
Realty developer Kanakia Group has acquired a 2.5 acre land  in the Kanjurmarg suburb of Mumbai from Windsor Realty, a joint venture between Gopal Narang and Rajan Raheja, for Rs 125 crore.
The deal is done, and the land was registered under Kanakia last week said this <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://realty.economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/industry/kanakia-group-acquires-kanjurmarg-land-for-rs-125-crore-from-windsor-realty/52629616" target="_blank">report</a>.
The land used to house a car-battery manufacturing unit of Exide Industries. Windsor Realty had bought it to develop a premium residential project.
<h3>Coal India subsidiaries buyback 25% of shares</h3>
Five subsidiaries of <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Coal+India" target="_blank">Coal India</a> will buy back up to a quarter of their shares from the parent company — India&#8217;s state-owned coal monopoly — so that it can move forward with its own share buy back program.
The five subsidiaries are Central Coalfields, Mahanadi Coalfields, Northern Coalfields, South Eastern Coalfields and Western Coalfields. Their buy back will add about Rs 5,000 crore to Coal India&#8217;s kitty, said an Economic Times report.
The Indian government is looking to raise Rs 6,000 crore or more from Coal India&#8217;s buy back.
