The <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=gpif" target="_blank">Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF)</a> of Japan has appointed its new real estate boss, while Philippine-based <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=China+Bank+Philippines" target="_blank">China Bank Group</a> named its Chief Operating Officer (COO).
<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Japan&#8217;s GPIF appoints Hideto Yamada as real estate boss</h3>
Japan&#8217;s Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF) appointed on February 1 Hedito Yamada, a known local overseas real estate investment veteran, as its director for real estate.
Yamada is leaving his post as managing director of Mitsui Fudosan UK, a subsidiary of Japan&#8217;s leading property company <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Mitsui+++Fudosan+UK" target="_blank">Mitsui Fudosan Co Ltd</a>.
He is tasked to lead GPIF in its expansion of property investing outside of Japan.
In his more than eight-year stint with Mitsui Fudosan UK, Yamada led its large-scale urban redevelopment ventures, like the BBC Television Centre and White City Place in London.

<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Philippines: China Bank names William Whang as new COO</h3>
China Bank, a Philippine-listed private universal bank, has named William Whang on February 1 as its chief operating officer (COO).
He is also the bank&#8217;s current executive vice president and head of lending business segment.
William&#8217;s appointment came along with the promotions of Alberto Emilio Ramos, who is currently seconded to subsidiary China Bank Savings Inc as president, from senior vice president to executive vice president; and then Delia Marquez, head of controllership group, from first vice president I to first vice president II.
China Bank likewise disclosed that its board of directors approved the increase in the authorized capital stock of its wholly-owned subsidiary <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=CBCC" target="_blank">China Bank Capital Corporation (CBCC)</a> from $10 million (P500 Million) to $40.2 million (P2 Billion), and the company&#8217;s capital infusion of additional P500 million thereof within the first quarter of 2017.
&#8220;The increase in authorized capital stock will enable CBCC to handle bigger deals and the P500 Million infusion will bring CBCC equity to P1.23 Billion,&#8221; China Bank said in its statemeent.
