Wilton Resources has raised funds to finance its ongoing development of the Ciemas Gold Project and transport major ComfortDelGro is taking over an Australian JV.
<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Wilton Resource raises funds</h3>
<a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/wilton-resources" target="_blank">Wilton Resources</a> has sold 150 million new shares to two private investors at 5.751 cents each. This sees the company raising S$8,626,500 in funds and will see it raise S$8.6 million in net proceeds that will fund the ongoing development of the Ciemas Gold Project.
According to the company, the placement was non-underwritten and no placement agent was appointed. Wilton added that this placement of shares would not result in any transfer of controlling interest in the group.
Priced at a 10 per cent discount to the volume weighted average price of 6.39 cents on 16 December 2016, the placement shares represents 6.16 per centof the enlarged share capital of the group.
<h3 style="text-align: justify;">ComfortDelGro to assume full ownership of ComfortDelGro Cabcharge</h3>
<a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/comfortdelgro" target="_blank">ComfortDelgro</a> has entered into an agreement with Cabcharge Australia to acquire the remaining 49 per cent stake in ComfortDelGro Cabcharge (CDC) for a consideration of A$186 million.
CDC was a joint venture (JV) company founded in 2005 following the acquisition of the Westbus Group by ComfortDelGro and <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.cabcharge.com.au/" target="_blank">Cabcharge</a> that has grown to become amongst the largest private bus operators in the states of New South Wales and Victoria.
Speaking on the matter, Kua Hong Pak, ComfortDelGro managing director and group CEO, commented: &#8220;The acquisition of the remaining stake in CDC reflects our commitment to the Australian market and our continued confidence in its growth potential. Through a wholly-owned subsidiary, we are better able to seek new opportunities to grow the business.&#8221;
The comapany operates contract scheduled bus, school bus, private contract and charter bus services and maintains a combined fleet of 1712 buses and a total staff strength of about 2300 personnel.
The purchase consideration is based on a valuation of 4.6 times 2015 EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation) of CDC and will be financed by a combination of internal funds and bank borrowings. The transaction is subject to approval from the Australian Foreign Investment Review Board.
