An increase in the number of funds currently looking to raise capital and an uptick in interim closes in H1 2022 suggests that 2022 could be a robust year for venture capital (VC) fundraising.

As on June 30, there are 90 Southeast Asia-based VC funds on the fundraising trail, according to DealStreetAsia DATA VANTAGE‘s recent report SE Asia’s VC Funds: H1 2022 Review. The funds have a cumulative target of $9.58 billion, of which around 30%, or $2.86 billion, has been raised already.
