India Digest: RPSG leads funding in MyDesignation; Hillhouse to invest in Quest Global

MyDesignation has raised nearly $4.4 million in its Series A funding round, while Hillhouse Investment has announced a minority investment in Quest Global.

MyDesignation raises Series A funding

MyDesignation, a direct-to-consumer (D2C) fashion brand, has secured nearly $4.4 million (Rs 40 crore) in a Series A round led by RPSG Capital Ventures, the company announced on Monday.

The round also included participation from existing investor Veltis Capital, which increased its equity stake. Multiply Ventures and Dominor Investments joined as returning investors.

According to the company, the fresh capital will be used to scale its offline retail presence through company-owned stores, strengthen the senior leadership team, and introduce new product categories as it enters its next growth phase.

Founded in 2020 by husband-wife duo Swaroop Krishnan and Gopika B Raj, MyDesignation has built its presence through a digital-first approach and community-driven brand positioning. The label combines culturally inspired storytelling with contemporary streetwear design. It currently operates through its online website serving customers across India, and has five exclusive brand outlets in Bangalore, Kochi, Trivandrum, and Calicut.

To date, the brand claims to have served nearly 1 million customers and reports strong monthly repeat purchases. The team has grown to 100 people and the company plans to further strengthen leadership across functions such as finance, supply chain, merchandising, and marketing. The capital will also support a structured offline expansion strategy, with plans to open eight stores over the next year, across markets such as Chennai, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru.

Hillhouse to pick minority stake in Quest Global

Quest Global, a leading engineering services company, has entered into definitive agreements with global investment firm Hillhouse Investment for a minority equity investment, per an announcement on Monday.

The transaction will include a primary capital infusion into Quest Global, along with the acquisition of shares from select existing shareholders. The fresh capital will support the company’s strategic priorities. The investment will be made through funds managed and advised by Hillhouse Investment Management.

“Their investment reinforces the strength of our differentiated value proposition, financial and operating discipline, and long-term growth strategy. We look forward to partnering with Hillhouse as we further invest in advanced engineering capabilities that will help our clients solve the problems of today that stand in the way of tomorrow,” said Ajit Prabhu, co-founder & CEO, Quest Global.

The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions. Jefferies served as the exclusive financial adviser to Quest Global on the transaction.
