China’s Contemporary Amperex Technologyis considering a potential Hong Kong share sale that could raise as much as $5 billion after a recent surge in its stock, with early discussions held with banks, Bloomberg News reported on Monday citing unnamed sources.

The largest maker of electric-vehicle batteries in the world is also exploring issuing convertible bonds as part of its broader financing plans, the report said.

It added that discussions are still ongoing and no final decisions have been taken.

Reuters could not immediately verify the report.
