C2i Semiconductors, headquartered in Bengaluru, has raised fresh capital, extending its Series A round to $16.7 Mn with fresh backing from TDK Ventures, per media reports.
The startup had raised $15 million in the first tranche of its Series A round led by Peak XV Partners, with participation from Yali Deeptech in February this year. TDK Ventures had participated in the original raise, too.
Established in June 2024, C2i Semiconductors builds power management technologies for AI data centres and cloud computing systems. The startup is working on new ways to improve how electricity moves from the power grid to computer processors, helping make AI infrastructure more efficient and reliable.
It plans to use the funding to scale its operations and accelerate product development efforts.
In a separate media release, C2i Semiconductors recently announced the tape-out of its smart power stage chip built specifically for AI infrastructure.
As AI workloads scale globally, data centres are becoming increasingly power-intensive. Power stage chips play a critical role in regulating, distributing, and optimising power across the compute stack, making them fundamental to the next generation of AI infrastructure.
C2i’s tape-out marks an important step towards building this capability from India, for India, and the world.
