Schroders Wealth Management has appointed Sharon Sim as Head of Business Development, Asia, underscoring Schroders Wealth Management’s continued commitment to Asia as a key growth region, according to an announcement.
This follows the recent appointment of Evonne Tan as CEO, reinforcing the firm’s continued investment in expanding its client proposition and capabilities in the region.
Based in Singapore, Sharon will be responsible for driving business development across Asia, including identifying market and client segment opportunities as well as building strategic partnerships for growth.
She will work closely with regional and global teams to further establish Schroders Wealth Management as a trusted, long‑term partner for clients across the region.
Sharon has over 25 years of experience in wealth management, family offices, and capital markets across Asia, advising ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, and institutions.
She previously held senior roles at single- and multi-family offices in Singapore, including CEO of a single-family office, and earlier worked at Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, UBS, Deutsche Bank and Citi.
Asia is central to Schroders Wealth Management’s global growth strategy, driven by sustained wealth creation as well as an increasing demand for personalised, cross-border advice, and access to global investment opportunities.
Sharon’s appointment reflects the firm’s ongoing investment in the region, as it builds on its momentum in the region to meet the evolving needs of wealthy individuals and families in Asia, the company said in the announcement.
FWD Group names president director for Indonesia
Hong Kong-based insurer FWD Group has appointed Jeffrey Woo as President Director of its Indonesian unit, PT FWD Insurance Indonesia, following regulatory approval from Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority (OJK).
He brings more than two decades of experience in the financial services and insurance sectors across Asia Pacific, with expertise spanning agency and bancassurance distribution, strategic execution, governance, and business operations. Prior to the appointment, Woo served as Chief Bancassurance Officer at FWD Thailand.
His expertise spans strategic execution, performance management, and governance, complemented by cross market leadership across distribution and operations.
