Singapore and Hyderabad-based healthcare platform YouLabs has raised $2.6 million in a seed funding round led by Crane Venture Partners, according to an announcement.
The round marks the first investment from Crane’s newly launched Asia-Pacific fund. Other investors include Dr. Reddy’s, Matrix Pharma, and designer Jayanti Reddy.
Founded by entrepreneur Ajay Bulusu, YouLabs is developing healthcare and biotechnology infrastructure focused on preventive health and longevity in India. The company has assembled a team of physicians, scientists, engineers, and data specialists to develop products and services aimed at monitoring health over time rather than focusing solely on disease treatment.
“Healthcare is becoming increasingly data-driven, yet some of the world’s largest populations remain dramatically underrepresented in modern health infrastructure,” said Roy, Partner at Crane Venture Partners. “We believe YouLabs is approaching this problem from a unique intersection of science, technology, and clinical practice.”
The company plans to launch its first product, called 150, later this year. The physician-managed programme focuses on preventive health and longevity and will initially grow through referrals.
YouLabs is also developing a range of longevity-focused supplements that will initially be available to participants in the 150 programme.
In addition, the company is building a health data platform focused on South Asian populations. One of its early initiatives is a proprietary Longevity Score, which combines genomic, biological and longitudinal health data to assess an individual’s health trajectory.
The company operates between Singapore and Hyderabad and plans to use the fresh capital to expand its physician network, scientific team and technology infrastructure.
Crane Venture Partners is a venture capital firm investing in category-defining technology companies. With offices in London and Singapore, the firm backs ambitious founders building the next generation of global technology businesses.
