B Capital names general partner and chief AI officer
US- and Singapore-based venture capital firm B Capital has appointed Andrew Jackson as general partner and chief AI officer, as the firm steps up its artificial intelligence strategy across investing, portfolio management and operations.
Under the new role, Jackson will work with investment, portfolio management and operations teams to enhance deal sourcing, due diligence, knowledge sharing and founder support. He will also provide technology leadership for AI-driven businesses incubated by the firm.
Jackson joins from G42, where he served as chief AI officer and partnered with OpenAI to develop AI strategies for the UAE. He also oversaw governance for Stargate UAE, a 5-gigawatt AI infrastructure cluster, and founded a Microsoft-backed AI Foundation focused on AI governance.
Previously, he founded and led Inception, G42’s AI lab, and helped expand Palantir Technologies’ presence across the Middle East and North Africa. He holds a PhD in machine learning from Trinity College, Dublin.
At B Capital, Jackson will also support the firm’s AI-focused investments, including its recently announced agreement to acquire Russell Investments, while leading the development of AI tools for investment and expanding the firm’s proprietary technology platform.
Founded in 2015, B Capital manages more than $12 billion in assets across multiple funds, investing from seed to late-stage companies in the technology, healthcare and energy sectors.
