Bank of Singapore, the private banking arm of Oversea-Chinese Banking Corp, said on Tuesday that it has appointed Benjamin Low as head of alternative investments, effective August 17.
Low will be based in Singapore and report to Jean Chia, the bank‘s global chief investment officer. He will lead the bank‘s platform for assets outside traditional stocks and bonds, including private equity, private credit, venture capital, infrastructure and real estate.
Low joins from Cambridge Associates, where he was head of Asia hedge funds research. He has more than 15 years of experience advising large investors, including family offices, pension funds and corporate clients.
Bank of Singapore said demand for alternative investments is rising. Preqin has forecast global alternative assets under management will reach $32 trillion by 2030. Its earlier report put the market at $16.8 trillion at the end of 2023 and projected it at $29.2 trillion by 2029.
