DigitalBridge has agreed to acquire PLUS ES, one of Australia’s largest smart-meter providers, as the digital infrastructure investor expands into technology supporting the country’s energy transition.
Financial terms of the transaction weren’t disclosed. The deal, being made through a DigitalBridge-managed investment vehicle, is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.
PLUS ES is a ring-fenced entity within the Ausgrid Group and provides metering infrastructure and data services connecting electricity retailers, utilities and network operators. The company manages about 2 million meters across Australia’s National Electricity Market, according to DigitalBridge.
The acquisition gives DigitalBridge exposure to smart-metering infrastructure at the intersection of digital infrastructure and the energy transition. The firm said Australia’s ongoing smart-meter rollout provides a runway for further growth, supported by long-term customer relationships and contracted deployment visibility.

PLUS ES provides integrated metering and data services designed to help customers monitor energy consumption, optimize operations and support sustainability efforts.
The transaction adds to DigitalBridge’s broader focus on digital infrastructure, where its portfolio spans areas including data centers, cell towers, fiber, small cells and edge infrastructure.
