Nua, a women’s wellness brand, has raised $50 million in a Series C round led by Peak XV and Filter Capital, with existing investors Mirabilis Investment Trust and Footpath Ventures also participating, per an announcement.
The round includes both new funding and secondary sales, giving Kae Capital, Lightbox VC and some existing angel investors a chance to sell part of their holdings.
Nua will use the new capital to grow the brand, expand its reach and distribution and invest more in R&D and new products.
“Since our inception, we have sought to address neglected needs in women’s wellness through better-for-her products and a brand that genuinely speaks to today’s young women and girls,” said Ravi Ramachandran, founder & CEO at Nua, in a media statement.
“As we look ahead, we will continue to anticipate the evolving needs of women and build products that make a meaningful difference to their everyday lives,” added Ramachandran.
Founded in 2017, Nua sells women’s wellness products across period care, maternity care and intimate care. It also offers digital tools and serves more than 3 million women and girls every month.
“Women’s wellness in India is a large and evolving opportunity, and Nua has demonstrated a strong ability to build a brand that resonates deeply with consumers,” said Sakshi Chopra, Managing Director at Peak XV.
Nua recently launched its digital offerings such as the Nua Period Tracker App and SecretKeeper chat, extending its engagement with consumers beyond its product portfolio.
