Announcing Indonesia’s health minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin as keynote speaker

We are honoured to announce the participation of Indonesia’s Health Minister, His Excellency Budi Gunadi Sadikin, as a keynote speaker at our upcoming Indonesia PE-VC Summit on January 12, 2023.

Budi Gunadi Sadikin was named Indonesia’s health minister in December 2020 at the peak of the coronavirus pandemic when he was tasked with the enormous responsibility of prevention and mitigation strategies. The former banker is a big advocate of the power of technology and innovation in improving access to reliable, affordable and effective healthcare solutions for Indonesia’s 280-million-strong population.

Prior to taking charge as health minister, Budi Gunadi Sadikin served as president of Bank Mandiri from 2013 to 2016 followed by the role of senior advisor to the minister of state-owned enterprises.

A nuclear science graduate from the Bandung Institute of Technology, Budi Gunadi Sadikin started his career in 1988 as an information technology officer at IBM Asia-Pacific in Tokyo and later joined PT Bank Bali. Subsequently, he served as director of consumer and commercial banking for ABN AMRO Bank Indonesia & Malaysia. He has also served stints at Bank Danamon and Adira Quantum Multi Finance.

At the Indonesia PE-VC Summit, the health minister will deliver a keynote speech on the topic – Transforming healthcare in Indonesia through technology and innovation. He will share his vision of how investments in healthcare technology will propel Indonesia’s economic prosperity as well as generate great multiples for investors.

The keynote address will be followed by a fireside conversation between the Indonesian health minister and Pandu Sjahrir, Managing Partner, Indies Capital. Pandu Sjahrir is one of Southeast Asia’s leading investors in the seed and early growth stages. Indonesia-focused Indies Capital has invested over $700 million in the past 7 years.
