John Riady
CEO, PT Lippo Karawaci Tbk

John Riady helms Lippo Karawaci and Siloam International Hospitals, respectively the largest real estate and hospitals company in Indonesia. He is also executive director at Lippo Group and is an active investor in the Southeast Asia technology sector. Lippo Group’s interests in various verticals — real estate, private healthcare, and tech investments — place it at the centre of SE Asia’s largest economy.

Patrick Walujo
Co-Founder and Managing Partner, Northstar Group
Patrick Walujo leads The Northstar Group, a Singapore headquartered private equity firm that manages more than $2.5 billion in committed equity capital dedicated to investing in growth companies in Indonesia and to a lesser extent other countries in Southeast Asia.

Jefrey Joe
Co-Founder & General Partner, Alpha JWC Ventures
Jefrey Joe is a venture capitalist with tech, product and consulting background. Jefrey is highly entrepreneurial having started various companies in Australia, China and Indonesia. Prior to co-founding Alpha JWC, Jefrey was the COO of Groupon Indonesia. He serves as a mentor of Founder Institute and Endeavor, and he is on the board of advisors of ANGIN. He also sits on the board of some of Indonesia’s fastest-growing startups, including Kopi Kenangan, Kredivo, and Lemonilo.

Donald Wihardja
CEO, MDI Ventures

Donald Wihardja has over 20 years of experience in running and managing technology companies and tech investments. As Telkom Group’s CVC unit, MDI seeks to deliver capital gains on investments and foster innovation in the startup ecosystem. Previously, he was a Partner in Convergence Ventures and the CTO and Investment Manager at Principia Management Group.

Karan Mohla
Partner, B Capital

Karan has 18 years of global experience with over 11 years in technology-focused venture investing. At B Capital, he leads early-stage investments in India & South-East Asia. Previously he was a partner at Chiratae Ventures and his investments included FirstCry, HealthifyMe, CropIn, Xpressbees, Bounce among others. B Capital Group closed its $250-million early-stage Ascent Fund II, which seeks to invest in pre-seed to Series A rounds.

Deepak I. Shahdadpuri
Managing Director, DSG Consumer Partners

Deepak Shahdadpuri has over 20 years experience in both private equity and venture capital. Set up in 2012, DSG Consumer looks at funding consumer-focused companies in India and SE Asia. DSG has backed Chope, Redmart, Kind Kones, and YOUVIT, among others. Before DSG, he co-founded and managed the Beacon India Private Equity Fund and GEM India.

Paul Ong
Partner, Innoven Capital SEA

Paul brings over a decade of experience in corporate debt origination and structuring in SE Asia. Paul joined InnoVen Capital to kickstart the SE Asian business in 2016 and has gone on to lead 30 venture debt investments, Ruangguru, Tiki, Akulaku and eFishery. In his previous role with DBS, he executed over $700 million in debt facilities to corporates and conglomerates across healthcare, consumer, retail, automotive, real estate, and technology.

Eddy Chan
Founding Partner, Intudo Ventures

Eddy Chan leads “Indonesia-only” independent VC firm Intudo Ventures, which has over $230 million in committed capital. Intudo’s portfolio companies include Xendit, Pintu, Pinhome, Halodoc, Kargo, PasarPolis, and more. Prior to Intudo, Eddy worked on venture investments in startups since the late 1990s, including PayPal, Palantir, and Affirm.

Joshua Agusta
Executive Director, Vertex Ventures SE Asia & India

Joshua Agusta, who joined the Vertex Ventures SE Asia team in 2022, was previously Director of Venture Funds at Mandiri Capital Indonesia, the corporate VC arm of Bank Mandiri. Vertex Ventures is a prolific investor in Indonesia having backed homegrown startups including HappyFresh, Aruna, and TaniHub. Vertex manages over $5.1 billion in AUM across six partner funds.

Dimitra Taslim
VP, GGV Capital

Dimitra invests in the areas of Web3, SMBTech, FoodTech, EdTech, and FinTech. Based in Singapore, he travels frequently between China, India, and Southeast Asia to source new investments and to help portfolio companies with international expansion. Before joining GGV, Dimitra was an entrepreneur building a digital wealth startup.

We want reporters who can tell our readers what is really happening in these sectors and why it matters to markets, companies and consumers. The ability to write precisely and urgently is crucial for these roles. Ideal candidates must have to ability to work in a collaborative, dynamic, and fast-changing environment. We want our new hires to be digitally savvy and ready to experiment with new forms of storytelling. Most importantly, we are looking for hard-hitting reporters who work well in a team. Collaboration and collegiality are a must.
