Meet the first set of LP speakers

  1. Kevin Bong, Senior Managing Director, Chief Investment Strategist & Head of Singapore, AIMCo

Kevin Bong joined AIMCo in 2023 as Senior Managing Director, Chief Investment Strategist & Head of Singapore. Kevin was formerly the Global Leadership Group Managing Director and Director of the Economics & Investment Strategy at the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC). At GIC, he was responsible for articulating the organisation’s strategic outlook, determining asset exposures and benchmarks, and optimising capital allocation for the portfolio.

        2. Sunil Mishra, Partner, Adams Street Partners

Sunil Mishra specialises in fund selection, due diligence, negotiations, and monitoring of Asian investments ex-China, specifically in India, Australia, Japan, Southeast Asia, and Korea. He also actively participates in all fund investment decisions and is involved in the sourcing, screening, execution, monitoring, and exiting of growth and buyout co-investments. He sits on advisory boards of more than a dozen private equity firms within the Adams Street Partners portfolio. He is also a member of Adams Street’s ESG Committee.

         3. Xu Qing, Managing Partner, Oriza FOFs

XU Qing has over 20 years of experience in private equity investment with expertise in China’s capital markets, financing laws, and corporate structure. She has rich experience in venture capital and fund operations. Under her leadership, Oriza FOFs has become a benchmark for China’s FOF industry. Oriza FOFs currently manages China’s largest VC FOF, with a management scale of almost 30 billion yuan ($4.2 billion).

        4. Amanda Chen, Principal, Primary Investments, Harbourvest

Amanda Chen joined HarbourVest in 2017 and focuses on sourcing, reviewing, executing, and monitoring primary fund investments in the Asia Pacific region. She joined the firm from AlpInvest Partners in Hong Kong, where she was a senior associate responsible for sourcing, conducting due diligence, and executing private equity and venture capital fund opportunities in Asia.

       5. Cyrus Driver, Managing Director, Partners Group

Cyrus Driver is part of the Private Equity Technology business unit, based in Singapore. He is a member of the Global Investment Committee and the Chairman of the Private Equity Direct Co-Investments, extension secondaries and direct lead growth investments in the Technology Investment Committee. Cyrus has been with Partners Group since 2012, has 23 years of private equity investing experience and has served on the boards of twelve portfolio companies.

       6. Kent Chen, Managing Director and Head of Asia Private Equity, Neuberger Berman

Kent Chen is a Managing Director of Neuberger Berman and leader of the firm’s private equity efforts in the Asia Pacific region. He joined Neuberger Berman in May 2015 from the Hong Kong Monetary Authority after 17 years of central banking career in various positions. From

2008, he helped to establish the HKMA’s private equity programme, comprising global buyouts, Asia private equity and global energy investments.

         7. Shaun Khubchandani, Partner, Co-Head of Emerging Markets, Siguler Guff & Company

Shaun Khubchandani is a Partner and the Co-Head of Emerging Markets at Siguler Guff. In this role, he is responsible for spearheading all aspects of the direct investment process and managing risk across the firm’s direct investment portfolios across emerging markets. He is a Board Member of Verse Innovation (Dailyhunt), Relisys Medical Devices and Luker Electric Technologies.

         8. Alex C. Yu, Partner and Chief Executive Officer, 3 Capital Partners

Alex Yu is responsible for leading the firm’s direction and investment strategies. Hong Kong-based 3 Capital Partners, founded in 2016, is a private investment office targeting ultra-high-net-worth family offices in Asia. The firm is building out private equity as a vital part of its multi-asset strategy covering alternative assets, fixed income, and public equities.

        9. Mohammed Abrar Asif, Co-CEO, Hades Financial Private Capital Group

Mohammed Abrar Asif is the co-CEO at Hades Financial Private Capital Group, a global asset manager headquartered in Riyadh. Established in 2016, Hades Financial has $3.5 billion in assets under management (AUM). Apart from equity, the firm also invests in fund managers that offer debt, and structured products. Hades Financial is backed by some of the world’s largest sovereign wealth funds such as the Public Investment Fund, Kuwait Investment Authority, Oman Investment Authority (OIA), among others. Co-CEO Mohammed Abrar Asif told DealStreetAsia in a recent interview that the firm has earmarked over $500 million for investments in India over the next 2-3 years.

       10. Veiverne Yuen, Founding Partner, Blauwpark Partners

Veiverne Yuen has a deep understanding of the nuts and bolts of asset management including a strong regard for good governance and compliance, having begun his career in 2005 with the Monetary Authority of Singapore. His experience spans institutional asset management, private equity, venture capital, and mergers & acquisitions. Before Blauwpark, he held roles at tryb Group, GIC Pte Ltd, Rabobank, and MAS.

       11. Sean Low, CEO, Golden Vision Capital (Singapore)

Sean Low, CFA, is the CEO of Golden Vision Capital (Singapore), a new single-family office set up in Aug 2021 to make PE and VC direct investments in Southeast Asia, leveraging on the family and team’s strong business connections in the region. It also invests in leading PE Funds, and co-invests alongside them. Low is an industry veteran with 24 years of deal sourcing, investment and business development experience, including 17 years in the PE & Infrastructure department of Singapore’s GIC.

       12. Lay Hong LEE, Managing Director, Flexstone Partners

Lee is Managing Director of Flexstone Partners, based in the Singapore office. Before Flexstone, she was with Eagle Asia Partners, an independent fund of funds management firm that she started with a few other founders. Eagle Asia was focused on private equity investments in Asia. She has over twenty years of experience in private equity investments.

In Singapore, we are looking to double our reporting team by this year-end to comprehensively cover the fast-moving world of funded startups and VC, PE & M&A deals. We want reporters who can tell our readers what is really happening in these sectors and why it matters to markets, companies and consumers. The ability to write precisely and urgently is crucial for these roles. Ideal candidates must have to ability to work in a collaborative, dynamic, and fast-changing environment. We want our new hires to be digitally savvy and ready to experiment with new forms of storytelling. Most importantly, we are looking for hard-hitting reporters who work well in a team. Collaboration and collegiality are a must.
