<a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.taurowealth.com/Home" target="_blank">Tauro Wealth</a>, a technology-driven investments platform, has received an undisclosed amount of seed funding from <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=TracxnLabs" target="_blank">TracxnLabs</a> and other angel investors.
Tauro allows people to invest their monthly savings in the stock market, and have access to relevant stock market research that will help them make those decisions.
For most Indians, investing in stocks is not a preferred means to grow their wealth, because of lack of information about how the market works. High volatility in the last 3-4 years has made it seem like a risky bet. In reality, it remains a source of wealth generation at a higher rate than bank savings if investments are held for a time of 7-10 years.
Financial institutions have access to powerful tools that help them make big bets on the stock market, something that ordinary retail investors do not have. Tauro is trying to solve that problem.
“The lack of such a resource is why many people consider investing in stock markets similar to gambling in a casino. And I feel quite strongly that technology can bridge this wide gap between investors and the stock market,&#8221; said Harsh Vardhan Singh, co-founder, Tauro Wealth, in a statement.
Currently, retail investors account for about $200 billion of investment in the stock market. That figure might seem big, but the number of active investors is just about 2 per cent of the total population.
&#8220;Tauro Wealth aims to make investing in the stock market safer and more convenient for retail investors. Currently, while large financial institutions have access to high-end technology to make investment decisions, the lack of solutions for retail investors has always led to the notion of ‘investing’ seeming like more of a risk. Tauro Wealth will play a key role in bridging this gap,&#8221; said Neha Singh, co-founder, Tracxn.
Tauro was founded in 2015, and is currently in preview mode. This round of funding will help in building a web platform, and hire developers. The firm is also looking to raise a pre-Series A round soon, to enable a full rollout and manage costs related to managing operations, providing online transactions and customer support.
Tauro is part of the fintech space, which has been getting interest from investors, although it still lags behind consumer and internet startups. Bangalore-based <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Scripbox" target="_blank">Scripbox</a>, which helps customers invest in both debt and equity, raised Rs 16 crore in series A funding last year. Other trading startups such as <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=RKSV" target="_blank">RKSV</a> and <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=Zerodha" target="_blank">Zerodha</a> have come up in the last couple of years.
