In two separate corporate movement updates, Sam Allen became CompareAsiaGroup&#8217;s new CEO, while Natalie Meyenn reportedly quit her post as head of private equity at MLC.
<h3>CompareAsiaGroup hires KKR&#8217;s Sam Allen as CEO</h3>
Former <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.kkr.com/" target="_blank">KKR</a> executive Sam Allen has joined <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.goldmansachs.com/" target="_blank">Goldman Sachs</a>-backed consumer finance startup <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.compareasiagroup.com/" target="_blank">CompareAsiaGroup</a> as its new chief executive officer.
CompareAsiaGroup made the appointment ahead of the company&#8217;s second round of funding, <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://TechCrunch http://techcrunch.com/" target="_blank">TechCrunch</a> reported.
Headquartered in Hong Kong, CompareAsiaGrroup runs seven other sites, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. Its goal is to be the number one trusted source of information on personal finance and saving money in Asia.
Allen disclosed CompareAsiaGroup is seeking to raise a second round of funding that it will use to advance its technology and add more financial information on its sites based on updates from banks, telecoms, and other providers.
He said CompareAsiaGroup now has 20 million users across the region.
The company&#8217;s total backing, including its seed funding, now stands at $45 million after it closed a $40 million Series A last year led by US-based multinational investment banking firm Goldman Sachs.
CompareAsiaGroup works with financial service providers, charging them for each user who signs up for its services through its sites.
In his stint at KKR, Allen served as director on the private equity investment firm’s portfolio operations team.
<h3>Natalie Meyenn quits Australia&#8217;s MLC</h3>
Natalie Meyenn recently quit her post as head of private equity at National Australia Bank’s wealth management division, <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.mlc.com.au/" target="_blank">MLC</a>.
Meyenn left for still unknown reasons, <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.theaustralian.com.au/" target="_blank">The Australian</a> reported.
MLC is most likely looking for Meyenn&#8217;s replacement, the news firm added. She joined MLC in 2007,
MLC is committed to providing investment, superannuation, insurance and financial advice to our corporate, institutional and retail customers.
