<a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=crescent+capital" target="_blank">Crescent Capital</a> is preparing for a trade sale of building materials provider ArcPac, after selling its Brisbane-based Breezway Louvre Windows division to its rival, US-based Jeld-Wen.
Breezway, which Crescent had made part of ArcPac for three years, was sold for $100 million, said a report in The Australian. The company has been making louvre windows since 1947.
ArcPac was earlier set for an initial public offering on the Australian Securities Exchange but the plan was shelved on concerns about its potential performance in the aftermarket. Crescent then opted for a trade sale for the firm which has been consolidating the market.
The buyout firm had said at the time that the IPO had generated strong interest from institutional and retail investors at the fixed price of $1.90 a share, or about 10 times its forecast annual earnings.
Jeld-Wen has more than 20,000 employees in the Americas, Europe, Asia and Australia.
Breezway, which has a development center in Brisbane, is leveraged mainly to the Australian and New Zealand detached housing market and has been among the top two players in its markets of louvre windows and garage doors.
The IPO market has been weak in the latest annual company reporting season.
