To strengthen its presence in Asia, US-based law firm <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/morgan-lewis" target="_blank">Morgan Lewis</a> has established a new office in Shanghai, the firm&#8217;s sixth in Asia, its second in China, and its 29th worldwide.

&#8220;The new office represents a significant expansion of its services to clients with interests in China and markets throughout Asia and the world,&#8221; the company said in a statement.
The new office is led by five global corporate transactional partners, Mitch Dudek, Todd Liao, Alex Wang, Eddie Hsu and Cindy Pan, who have joined the Morgan Lewis from rival law firm <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/dentons" target="_blank">Dentons</a>, along with 30 other lawyers and staff.
&#8220;I am thrilled to welcome a team of lawyers who are deeply familiar with China and its business and legal systems,&#8221; said Firm Chair Jami McKeon. &#8220;Shanghai is not only China&#8217;s largest city but it is a global financial center of critical importance to our clients all around the world.&#8221;
Last year, Morgan Lewis established a Singapore office, merging with Stamford Law Corp and rebranding as Morgan Lewis Stamford, and in 2014, it added expanded lawyers from Bingham McCutchen to expand its Tokyo office.
Its offices in Singapore, Beijing, Shanghai, and Tokyo provide legal, business, regulatory, and governmental advice to clients doing business in Australia, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, and all of Southeast Asia. In Central Asia, our Kazakhstan offices in Almaty and Astana work closely with teams in London, Moscow, Frankfurt, and Dubai on transactions in the oil and gas, energy, mining, and banking industries.
Morgan, Lewis and Bockius is the largest US law firm by numbers, with more than 2000 lawyers globally.
