<a style="color: #000080" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=sandbar+investments">Sandbar Investments</a> and <a style="color: #000080" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=wingate+group">Wingate Group</a> have led a $25-million funding round in Sydney-based digital health advertising platform <a style="color: #000080" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=medical+channel">Medical Channel.</a>
The funding will be used to acquire its digital signage competitor <a style="color: #000080" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/?s=the+community+network">The Community Network</a>, bolstering its leading position in Australia&#8217;s largest digital health advertising platform.
“This deal is a watershed moment for Medical Channel. It firmly extends our lead in this space to more than 50 per cent of the addressable market,” said Medical Channel&#8217;s chief executive Nazar Musa.
Medical Channel provides content for a network of digital display screens in health practices. It cited that the combined business would offer advertisers an audience of 6.25 million viewers per month in more than 3,200 health providers across Australia.
“The combined business is immediately profitable through the ability to offer both local and national advertising campaigns,” added the CEO.
It claims it has over 7,000 engaged advertisers at present. In addition to advertising, Medical Channel can also provide targeted health advice and medical information to both doctors and patients.
Apart from Medical Channel&#8217;s chairman Dr Phillip Wing, Sandbar’s Darren Smorgon, Wingate Group’s David Jackson and digital media entrepreneur and investor Tony Faure also come on the company&#8217;s board.
