On the occasion of opening of the fintech hub on 10 November 2016 in the Central Business District, Singapore Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/mas" target="_blank">Monetary Authority of </a><a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/mas" target="_blank">Singapore (MAS)</a> , Tharman Shanmugaratnam said, in his <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.mas.gov.sg/News-and-Publications/Speeches-and-Monetary-Policy-Statements/Speeches/2016/Speech-at-the-Launch-of-Lattice80.aspx" target="_blank">opening speech</a>, incumbents in the financial services space were adapting to the emergence of <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/fintech" target="_blank">fintech</a>, and transforming the sector.
&#8220;In short, the Goliaths of the financial world have become more nimble-footed, and are both competing with and partnering the Davids. That said, we are still at an early stage of FinTech, globally. It has spurred greater competition in every segment of the value chain of finance. It is too early to say who the winners will be,&#8221; he remarked.
Located in 80 Robinson Road and spread across two levels, LATTICE80 measures more than 30,000 square feet.
To date, over 20 foreign and local fintech companies and associations comprising over 100 people at varying stages of growth have signed up to take on residence at LATTICE80, with established players alongside yet-to-launch ventures and early stage startups.
The types of companies and associations include blockchain, robo-advisors, trading systems, online marketplaces, financial education, cognitive computing, big data analytics and fund management.

LATTICE80 has forged partnership agreements with key financial and technology companies <a href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/ibm" target="_blank">IBM</a>, <a href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/uob" target="_blank">UOB</a>, <a href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/kpmg" target="_blank">KPMG</a>, MatchMove, EZ-Link, Singapore Fintech Consortium, Femtechleaders SG and Metropolitan Management Services to provide leading edge solutions and services like APIs, cloud technology and <a href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/blockchain" target="_blank">blockchain</a> solutions.
Additionally, the <a href="http://dealstreetasia.com/tag/NUS" target="_blank">National University of Singapore (NUS)</a> will be working in collaboration with LATTICE80 to shape a fintech curriculum. This will involve roll outs of training and capability development programmes particularly in the areas of cybersecurity, payment gateway and developing dynamic mobile applications.
Some of the companies basing themselves in LATTICE80 include Tryb Capital, Wonderlabs, Bank Bazaar, Bambu and several others.  Marvelstone Group&#8217;s own FinTech initiatives &#8212; Marvelstone Tech which includes Marvelstone Capital, FundEast and Miss Kaya &#8212; are also located within LATTICE80.
LATTICE80 adds to corporate labs like UOB FinLab and KPMG Digital Village, as well as other fintech-related organisations like the FinTech Association of Singapore , Next Money, Singapore FinTech Consortium and Femtechleaders SG.
