Malaysian <a style="color: #000080;" href="http://www.dealstreetasia.com/stories/malaysia-worlds-largest-natural-rubber-glove-maker-eyeing-acquisitions-in-2016-16397/" target="_blank">glove maker</a> Supermax Corporation Bhd has announced the incorporation of a 70 per cent owned subsidiary AIME Supermax KK in Japan for trading in contact lens and other related disposable and eye-care products.
In an exchange filing on Tuesday, Supermax said, &#8220;AIME Supermax was incorporated as a private limited company by shares in Japan with an authorised capital of $901,714 (JPY 100 million) and initial issued and paid up share capital of $270.4 (JPY 30,000) which will be increased to $901,714 (JPY 100 million).&#8221;
The remaining 30 per cent equity interests in the new company is held by International Consulting of Business Management Corporation, it added in its filing.
&#8220;The intended principal activity of AIME Supermax is to carry on business of importing, sales, marketing and distribution of contact lens and other related disposable and eye-care products for the Japanese market,&#8221; Supermax noted.
The company&#8217;s management team will be headed by an experienced Japanese senior employee who has vast experience in the contact lens industry, Supermax said without divulging any name.
Supermax, world&#8217;s second largest producer of latex gloves has already started selling its contact lens products in North Asia through its office in Hong Kong. The company has earlier mentioned that it expects a bigger contribution in the sector from Japan and the US.
However, Malaysia not been seen as a priority market for the company, it has plans to introduce the products to Malaysia in 2018.
