As per the report, the fund is likely to be launched in the second quarter of the year
In May 2016, AEW Capital Management had closed its second pan-Asia value-added fund, AEW Value Investors Asia II LP, with commitments totaling $640.2 million, including $50 million of client co-investment capital.
According to <a style="color: #000080;" href="https://www.cpexecutive.com/post/aew-capital-management-closes-640m-asian-fund/" target="_blank">a report</a> by Commercial Property Executive, David Schaefer, AEW’s head of Asia, had said that the second fund would focus on the acquisition of assets in Asia-Pacific region, primarily in Hong Kong, Singapore, Seoul, Shanghai and Sydney.
Founded in 1981, the Boston-based real estate investment manager invests both in public equity and publicly traded real estate securities. It has additional offices in Los Angles, California, London, United Kingdom, Paris, France, Hong Kong and Singapore.

in November 2015, AEW announced the acquisition of The Dongyeouido Building in Seoul, South Korea for $53 million from Samsung Life Insurance. Prior to which it had acquired two office properties in Asia for a total of $349 million on behalf of AEW Value Investors Asia II, the second in AEW’s series of value-added funds focused on Asia.
For the AEW Value Investors Asia series of funds, the investment targets opportunities focused on mid-sized, value-added transactions with a  preferred investment size of $50-80 million. It typically holds investments for 3-5 years.
